Two factions of Bergen County's Democrats eased their grip on each other's throats Thursday, canceling a primary challenge against state Sen. Loretta Weinberg, with the blessing and urging of Governor Corzine.

Bergen County Democrats were expected to declare a truce today in a budding civil war, with the county chairman agreeing to drop a challenge to state Sen. Loretta Weinberg, several party sources said.
